The EBI survey conducted by the Residential Life Office this spring revealed that 74.2% (n=784) felt living on campus at least moderately enhanced their understanding of the consequences of alcohol use and abuse while 70.8% (n=755) felt living on campus at least moderately enhanced their understanding of the consequences of drug use and abuse.
The following information was learned about the rate at which alcohol negatively impacts the quality of life for students on the floor (n=846): 44.3% said not at all 17% said it did between moderately and extremely (meaning the selected between 4 and 7 on a 7 point scale)
On campus students reported the following related to the frequency of alcohol consumption (N=869):
35.6% never 33.4%- less than once per week 17.8%- once per week 11.9% two-three times per week 1.0% almost every day .4% every day
On campus students also reported the following related to the number of alcoholic consumed on average at events/parties with alcohol (n=869):
38.1% - none 24.6% - one or two 19.8% - three or four 11.2% - five or six 3.0% - seven or eight 3.3% - more than eight
