GRAND CANYON 2004
Bandlier National Park near Los Alamos, New Mexico. This is an early village of the Sinaqua (no water} Indians before them became cliff dwellers.
Bandlier National Park at a cliff dwelling. Most cliff dwellings used ladders for the entrance. The boy in the picture is Danny (DJ).
Bandlier National Park. This cliff dwelling is 120 feet above the Canyon floor. We had to use rock steps and three 30 foot ladders to reach it. I am standing on a ladder that enters a kivi. A kivi is round and about 25 feet in diameter. The Sinaqua's would hold school and pow wows there.
Bandlier National Park. DJ and Katherine are sitting on the top wall of a kivi that was used when the Sinaqua where valley dwellers.
Bandlier National Park. This are petroglyphs that are above the cliff dwellings.

This is Danny (DJ). He is going skiing for his first time at Ski Santa Fe. They shut the lifts at 4PM because they have to make more artificial snow.
Danny again. This is trick photography. He is supposed to look like he is climbing a vertical wall. The picture was taken by our guide in the Senora Mountains. Notice how red they look.

White Sands, New Mexico, DJ at the top of a dune getting ready to slide. Boy did he sleep good that night.
This is called the window in New Mexico. It is near Gallop New Mexico. We found a great garage sale that day and bought lots of Indian stuff. Unable to find the trail to the top we were disappointed.
Acoma Arizonia. The is called the Sky City. Oldest continually lived in city in the country. Still has no water or electricity.
This is a game arena in Patowkie National Park just north of Flagstaff. The sinaqua played some kind of sport here. The really cool thing was this blow hole at the end of the court that actually blew air conditioned by mother nature air. Me I would buildt my teepee over the blow hole.
Chirague National Park or something like that near Fort Bowie. This was the stronghold of Cochise and he is buried here someplace. Looks like Bryce Canyon.
Grand Canyon City. We decided to not ride the donkeys. They were only available for day trips currently. The donkey trails just reopened the day we arrived.
Katherine standing behind a grave marker near Fort Bowie, Arizonia. Fort Bowie was important to protect the Butterfield stagecoach from Apache attacks.
Grand Canyon. Probably taken at Desert View. If you go do not miss Desert View.
