"Do what's right for you,
as long as it don't hurt no one."

-Elvis Presley

THE 24-HOUR CHURCH OF ELVIS is non-denominational, pantheistic and ecstatic. Ella Fitzgerald is our mediatrix. We acknowledge the Gods and Goddesses of other entities. We reject cruelty, exploitation and human sacrifice. We love animals.

We adore Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, and all others who manifest the Great Spirit by means of rhythmic incantation and bodily gyration. We seek to join the tribal dances of other entities, including those from other worlds. We embrace all media. We believe that Liberace taught the King how to dress.

We acknowledge our Mother Church in Portland, assembled by Stephanie -- Elvisian Matriarch, Maker of Miracles, Source of Icons, Initiator of Rituals. We chant the names of Gladys and Vernon. We praise Sam Phillips.

We believe Althusser was right. We believe Marx didn't know the half of it. We recognize El Vez as He Who Enacts the King.

We proclaim the pilgrimage sites of Tupelo, Memphis and Las Vegas. We dream of Graceland.

We humbly amplify the Recorded Messages of the Electrified Elvis, Mover of Bodies, Shaker of Souls, Shaper of Identities, Throbbing Epicenter of Multiple Orgasmic Change, Blessed Source of Articulation.

T.C.B., T.C.B., T.C.B. -- then, now and forever.

Adopted by the San Antonio Congregation in December, 1997.
Adopted by the Portland Congregation in January, 1998.

The Elvisian Creed is a work in progress, and other Congregations are invited to comment.
