Many countries have newspapers that publish English content, and many of these are on the World Wide Web. On the right you will see a list of the countries you're studying in this course, which will link you to available newspaper titles online in English.

You may also search for content on your own, but use the following tips to help you:

  • When evaluating a given site, look to see that the article you are interested in was written by a reporter from that country, rather than by an outside source such as an international news agency or a U.S. or U.K. source.

Be sure to check the date.

  • Avoid news sites that appear biased or sensational in their coverage--and be careful using content from sites aimed at an ex-patriot or tourist audience.

  • When searching in Google, look for sites that offer pre-selected lists of foreign papers in English--five of these are listed in the General section on the right of this page.
