In this course we'll make heavy use of technology to answer our questions and visualize our data and research.
All of the software we'll use is installed in Library Room 310, which will serve as our lab space for the class, and will be yours to use at all other times. (It is sometimes booked for classes during the week, but is free otherwise.)
Mainly, we'll use Google Earth and Google Maps.
Google Earth is a free downloadable application which you can install on your computer if you choose, or simply use in Library 310.
Google Maps is a free online application, and can be used anywhere with an internet connection. Other mapping sites (Yahoo maps, etc.) can be used as well.
We'll also work with free online map mashup tools, like ZeeMaps and YourGMap, among others.
