BIOLOGY 2320

Cellular and Molecular Biology

Instructors: Dr. Jim Shinkle/Dr. Brenda Rushing

Course description: This course focuses on cellular chemistry, structure and function. An introduction to the foundations of molecular biology and gene function is developed. A primary objective is to develop the student's ability to apply conceptual information to a wide variety of specific problems in cell and molecular biology. A framework with sufficient detailed information to support the larger concepts is provided. The course has been team-taught by Jim Shinkle (cell biology and physiology) and Brenda Rushing (molecular biology) over the past semester. It is recommended that Biol 2120 be taken concurrently. 3 class hours a week for one semester. Fall. Prerequisites: BIOL 1319, BIOL 1119, CHEM 2319, CHEM 1119
