Nancy
Nguyen
Nancy intends to pursue a major in Biology and a minor in
Art History. Her research focuses on the invasive C4 grass,
Pennisetum ciliare (Buffelgrass) in San Antonio.
Using a GPS unit and ArcMap, she is tracking the invasion
of the species as it invades from southern portion of San
Antonio and moves to the north. This project is designed to
compliment similar work done on the species through the Desert
Museum in Tucson (link).
She also maintains the “subterranean” greenhouse
and the teaching conservatory. Outside of the lab, Nancy enjoys
chocolate, tea, reading, drawing, and playing the violin.
She is currently on a quest for the perfect bakery. Her music
interests include Bach, Josh Groban, and Frank Sinatra.
