Example: The Thomas Crowne Affair

Analysis:  Watch just a few seconds of footage from the old and new versions of the Thomas Crowne Affair.  Notice the difference between the film styles?  The older version (made in 1968) definitely has a different style to in than the new (made in 1999).  Most noticeable is the seemingly random "spinning" and multi-framing of the older version, as opposed to the remake's crisp picture and what can only be described as a "1990's feel."

This trend can be seen in the other movies too; for some reason the original movies just seem to look "old", and the newer ones look "new".  This alone may be enough for some Silents/Boomers and Xers/Ys to choose which version they prefer based solely on the look and style of the movie.
