Founded in 1915,
the AAUP is the most important national professional association working
to defend academic freedom and faculty
governance. It serves to support the traditional functions and
responsibilities of our profession, encourage collegial communication
among faculty from across the campus, and develop policies that ensure
due process. It is especially important for younger faculty
in a changing academic environment: Will tenure continue in American
institutions of higher education? What about academic freedom? Are you going to be working
under a corporate model
of administration with priorities quite different from those you have as a
scholar/educator? What should be the role of faculty governance at
Trinity? AAUP is
the organization to address the questions in concert with other campus
institutions and organizations.
Membership in the chapter is open to Trinity University faculty members
and administrators who hold academic rank, and we
invite your participation.
Please contact any officer or members
