LUNCH FEATURE
Texas Tenors
weekdays | 11am - 1 pm
In the old days, you could tell where a
saxophonist was from by his sound, and there was no more
distinctive school than that of tenor saxophonists from the
Lone Star State. Starting with the short-lived Herschel
Evans and including giants like Buddy Tate, Arnett Cobb,
Illinois Jacquet, Dewey Redman, David "Fathead" Newman,
James Clay, Booker Ervin, and San Antonio's own Clifford
Scott, this week's lunch feature highlights the big,
boisterous, and uniquely swinging sound of the Texas Tenor
tradition.
Sweet Beats
Fridays | 7 - 9 pm
Melanie Cordell hosts music with an international flair with
influences ranging from French to Asian as well as a full hour
of Latin jazz.
