Eligibility Requirements
The McNair Scholars Program invites applications from Trinity University students representing all undergraduate majors. Students can meet the
eligibility requirements for the program in one of two ways:
First generation, low-income: Students whose parents or guardians did not
receive a bachelor’s degree (or if a student lived with just one parent,
if that parent did not receive a bachelor’s degree) and who meet specific
family income requirements
are eligible for the
program. To find out if your family’s taxable income level qualifies,

Historically-underrepresented groups: Students who belong to a group
historically underrepresented in higher education are eligible for the
program. This includes African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Native
Americans/Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders/Hawaii Natives.
If you are unsure whether or not you are eligible for the McNair Scholars
Program, please contact the
Program Assistant Director or the Program
Director.
