In conjunction with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Information Division, in Houston, Texas, the SWCAS is pleased to offer this opportunity to receive a presentation from a top scholar in Taiwan. This year’s speaker is Dr. Fu-san Huang, Research Fellow at the Institute of Taiwan History, Academia Sinica, and Professor, Department of History, National Taiwan University. Dr. Huang will speak on “The European Influence on Taiwan in the 17th Century: The Dawn of Formosa.”
