SWCAS NEWSLETTER

MAY 1998

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT OF SWCAS

I would like to thank Dr. Ken Hammond for coordinating the planning of our joint meeting with the Western Conference in El Paso on October 16-17, 1998.

If you have not already submitted a panel or paper proposal to Ken, I wish to encourage you to do so by June 15, 1998. In addition, I would ask you to encourage your colleagues and graduate students to participate. You may wish to remind them that papers presented at the annual meeting will be considered for publication in the organization’s Selected Papers series.

Let me take this opportunity to also thank Dr. Joseph Yick for setting in motion planning for the 1999 meeting of the Southwest Conference in San Marcos, and Dr. Stephen Field for putting the SWCAS on-line at the following temporary internet address: http://www.trinity.edu/~sfield/southwest.html.

If you would like any additional information on the activities of the SWCAS or if you have any suggestions, please contact me or one of the other officers.

Looking forward to seeing you in El Paso on October 16-17, 1998.
