The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Trinity University offers a wide range of programs for study in these fields, including an Astronomy Minor, a Physics Minor, and B.A. & B.S. Physics Majors. The B.S. program provides rigorous preparation in both theoretical and experimental physics for students seeking careers in physics (or a related field) in academia, industry, or government. The B.A. program provides excellent preparation for careers in secondary school teaching, and is particularly well-suited to students doing double majors. Undergraduate research is a key component of our curriculum, and the research interests of our faculty sample some of the most exciting topics in physics and astronomy today: nanoscale physics, condensed matter physics, gravitational wave detection, supernovae, active galaxies, and cosmology. All six of our full-time faculty encourage students to participate in their research programs.
