Professor Madrid is
requesting from the department the amount of $100 to help defray
expenses incurred during the visit next week of Miguel Gandert. Arturo
has provided the following description of Gandert's visit:
On campus
during the week of September 29- October 4 will be prize-winning
photographer Miguel Gandert, who in addition to being an active
photographer is also Professor of Communications and Journalism at the
University of New Mexico. On the
evening of Thursday October 2,
Miguel will be presenting a slide lecture on his photographic work
involving similar and related indigenous and mestizo rituals in Bolivia
and New Mexico. The title of his lecture is Indo-Hispano
Rituals: Reading Cultural History in Photographs. It
will take place in Chapman Auditorium at 7:30 P.M.
