Apply Network Settings

You will be required to restart your computer later in this section. If you haven't already bookmarked or added to Favorites, the URL www.trinity.edu/studentsetup/, write it down now so you can easily return to the main page after restarting to continue the setup process.

1. In order to gain access to network resources your computer must be in the TRINITY workgroup.

To set this, click on the Windows logo (Start) , then Right-Click on Computer and select Properties to bring up the System properties dialog. Click on Change settings and then click Continue if prompted.

2. If the Full computer name is not your user name or if Workgroup is not TRINITY, click on Change (see image below). This will bring up the Computer Name Changes window.

3. Type your user name into the Computer name box. Type TRINITY into the Workgroup box. Click OK.

4. Wait for your computer to confirm your new workgroup and click OK in the next two dialogue boxes.

5. Now click OK on the System Properties dialogue and when promted, click Yes to restart your computer.
