  Lighting Critique Guidelines

Type a minimum 700 word critique of the lighting for Department of Speech and Drama  productions this semester. Use 1" margins on all sides of the paper and a 12 Times New Roman point font.  Please include a cover page with your name, class information and title.  A blank MS word file formatted to these specs. can be downloaded by clicking this: Critique Blank

This is an exercise in learning to look at the dramatic impact of lighting. I am interested in your personal views and perceptions of how the lighting influenced the production, positively or negatively. Feel free to discuss the production with classmates or others but ultimately, write your personal perceptions.

Things to think about:
Remember the functions of stage lighting. Did the use of these functions enhance or detract from your enjoyment or understanding of the play?

Grading:

A nicely written, well thought out paper that follows the above guidelines might very well earn you a C.  If you want a better grade than C (average) I suggest you write a better than average paper.
