Trinity University Music Department Statement Regarding COVID-19
The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has caused each of us to make significant changes in what we do and how we do it. While in the Music Department we are currently engaged in ensembles, private lessons, and music classes on campus this semester, we have enacted protocols to ensure everyone’s safety, health, and well-being.
Procedures include mask-wearing; safe distancing; hand sanitizers, wipes, and other disinfectants in all rooms; reduced rehearsal meeting times and limits on group meeting size; and the addition of air filtration systems to enhance the recirculation of air. These efforts, along with the cooperation and compliance of our students, has enabled the Music Department to continue with its diversity of offerings in a very difficult time.
Musical life at Trinity can be heard in the choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, and many other musical groups open to all students at Trinity.
Private lessons are available to all students regardless of their majors. Trinity provides private lessons in both instruments and voice.
All music scholarships, including departmental awards and the Baker Duncan Fine Arts Scholarship, are offered in addition to the University's academic and financial aid awards to provide overall support for a Trinity education.
