Students do not need to major or minor in music to participate, but can choose to pursue a major in music performance, composition, or music education.
We invite you to explore our pages to discover how you can both continue with your current music interests and create new means of personal expression. Learn about our more than twenty ensembles, scholarship opportunities, outstanding faculty, the variety of major options, and more. Unlike some larger Schools of Music or conservatories, the Music Department, like all departments at Trinity University, are open to all interested and qualified students, irrespective of one’s major.
Trinity University proudly joined over 200 other institutions world-wide when becoming an All-Steinway campus. This distinctive designation translates to all upright pianos, studio grand pianos, and the two concert grand pianos
Our approach is two fold
We are committed to assuring that meaningful and rewarding participation with music is achievable throughout your time at Trinity. In both approaches, disciplinary rigor in the curricular offerings reflects the department’s commitment to intellectual and artistic acumen in the context of a liberal arts and sciences undergraduate institution.
