• Hometown: Iowa City, Iowa
    • Alma Mater: Trinity University - Class of 2017
    • Year I Joined the Trinity Office of Admissions: 2018
    • Students I work With: Hawaii, Southern California, Student-Athletes, and Transfer Students
    • Favorite College Course: Leadership for Sports Professionals, taught by one of Trinity's most caring and inspiring professors, Dr. Jacob Tingle, who challenged us to work in teams as we actively discussed leadership theories and related them to the realm of sport and business. The catch: the course culminated in writing and performing a play with our teams (none of us had any prior theater experience!) demonstrating the art of leadership. I am still friends with my team today. I learned more about myself and my leadership style from this course, and I continually find myself applying what I learned to my professional life.
    • Favorite Trinity Experience: Traveling with the tennis team to DC to compete at the NCAA tournament my Freshman year. During the trip we created lasting memories on and off the court; our last night in town we all rented bikes and hopped from one historic monument to the next until we had seen them all! I will never forget that trip, along with all the other fun experiences I gained as a student-athlete at Trinity.
    • One Thing I Love About San Antonio: That there are so many things to love about San Antonio! The Pearl Farmer's Market, accessibility to delicious breakfast tacos at any given time, warmhearted people (and weather!), a strong sense of community, and the feeling that there is always something to celebrate: a Spurs win, a new art exhibit, Fiesta, concerts, and so much more!
    • College Search Advice: Enjoy the search process. This is such an exciting time for you to find the place where you see yourself thriving as a student for the next 4 years. One of the best ways to do this is to research early, thoroughly, and to visit campuses. Seeing for myself what a 9:1 student-to-faculty ratio actually looks like when sitting in on a class and observing interactions between students and faculty during my Trinity visit, differentiated Trinity from other schools and ultimately solidified my decision to attend Trinity. You will not regret campus visits; I certainly don't!
