• While completing a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Trinity during the 2014-15 academic year, Coach Shotland was a graduate assistant with Head Coach Cameron Hill and the Tiger women’s team. Trinity advanced to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship game for the third consecutive year.

    Coach Shotland was a 2014 summa cum laude graduate of Trinity, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. That same year, he was captain of the Tiger men’s basketball team, which captured its third straight SCAC Championship. Head Coach Pat Cunningham’s team also advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

    An excellent communicator, Coach Shotland delivered the student keynote speaker address for Trinity’s 2014 Commencement ceremony. He also was elected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, and was a nominee for the Capital One Academic All-District Team. Coach Shotland was active in the Trinity community as the representative for men’s basketball on Trinity’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

    Coach Shotland attended Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, where he was selected for the All-District basketball team. A versatile student-athlete, Coach Shotland also earned All-District accolades as a baseball pitcher.
