• Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs: Budget and Research, Sundermeyer provides comprehensive support and oversight to faculty and administrators seeking external funding for scholarship, research, equipment, curriculum development, travel, and other activities that strengthen teaching and scholarly/creative activity at Trinity University. She works to promote and enhance a culture of grant-seeking as a component of an engaged and active faculty. The Director of Sponsored Programs is focused on grant and fellowship seeking activities and submits applications on behalf of Trinity. She works with the Director of Corporate Relations, and the Director of Foundation Relations to identify multiple funding opportunities. She coordinates material transfers and unfunded research agreements, and oversees Trinity’s conflict of interest policy and other non-financial research compliance areas. She works with the Manager of Grants on post-award concerns. She supports the faculty research dinner series and a faculty committee that awards competitive fellowships for undergraduate research.
