Timothy Francis, M.F.A.
- Technical Director , Human Communication and Theatre
Tim joined the department of human communication and theatre in 1990 after receiving the MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and working at several East Coast theateres. Two decades and 80 shows later, he remains amazed at the amount of effort required to produce live theatre and pleased that so many students are willing to participate. Having long since given up any performance aspirations, he watches opening night from the relative safety of the back of the house, where he enjoys watching the audience watch the show.
Tim designs lighting or supervises student lighting designers and oversees all of the technical elements for Trinity productions. He trains and supervises students employed by the department, who perform the many and varied tasks needed to mount a production and maintain our theatre facilities. He also designs lighting locally for Ballet San Antonio, The Classic Theatre, and AtticRep.
