COVID-19 update from Trinity University
COVID Update: Jan 31-Feb 7
Current statistics/numbers in the last week

Dear Trinity Community:

It’s a new week, and new reasons for fresh optimism with regard to the impact of COVID on our campus. While the COVID numbers remain higher than before the Omicron-driven surge, the rate of new infections and isolations continues to decrease:

  • Since Jan. 31, 20 individuals have tested positive
  • The COVID Health Team has administered 17 on-demand tests
  • Currently, 22 individuals are in isolation on and off campus

While Trinity’s high vaccination rate and adoption of ProtecTU protocols have mitigated the impact of Omicron, San Antonio at large continues to struggle. Though case rates and hospitalizations in our city are declining, both statistics remain at critically-high levels.

The best protection against serious illness and hospitalization is to be fully vaccinated with a primary series and receive a booster shot as soon as you are eligible. To help, Trinity will hold two vaccination clinics on campus in partnership with HEB Pharmacy.

Primary vaccinations, booster shots (Pfizer ages 5+) and flu vaccines (ages 3+) will be available:

  • 9 am to 12 pm on Feb. 9
  • 1 pm to 4 pm on Feb. 16
  • Both clinics will take place at Murchison
  • Please use this link to register

Best wishes for a great week!
