Fusion Show Added to Saturday Program Schedule
Tune in at 6 p.m. CST Saturdays, starting July 1st for the newest jazz program - The Fusion Factor!

Kory Cook, KRTU Music Director

Chip Ruedebusch will host the new show, The Fusion Factor: "Jazz fusion covers a lot of musical territory and we'll try to cover as much as we can every Saturday night."

The Fusion Factor will explore the world of jazz and improvisational music that grew out of the late 1960s when musicians were beginning to combine jazz harmonies and improvisation with rock, funk and R&B. Experimentation with electric or electronic instruments from pioneers like Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Weather Report formed the fusion movement. You'll hear their music as well as more contemporary recordings from artists like Michael Brecker and Pat Metheny to local and regional performers Ulterior Motive, Kirk Covington and Snarky Puppy.

"I've been a jazz lover and a KRTU listener for many years and can't say enough about what it means to me to have access to music like this on a daily basis. Being listener-supported makes it an even more intimate and meaningful experience. I appreciate the opportunity."
