World-renowned Fiddle Player Michael Doucet at KRTU
In town for a concert presented by ARTS San Antonio, Cajun fiddle player Michael Doucet joined KRTU Music Director Kory Cook in the studio.

BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet takes the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blends elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into satisfying music. Born out of the rich Acadian ancestry of its members, and characterized by bandleader Michael Doucet’s spellbinding fiddling and soulful vocals, BeauSoleil brings audiences to their feet!

In 2005 Doucet was one of 12 recipients of the National Heritage Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA award, which recognizes artistic excellence, cultural authenticity and an artist's contributions, is the highest honor in U.S. folk and traditional arts. Doucet also received Grammy Awards in both 1998 and 2009 for work with BeauSoleil.
