• Dylan Harrison, a former Tiger men’s standout, has completed his first season as the head coach of the Trinity women’s soccer team.

    The Tigers  finished the 2016 campaign with a 23-1-0 record. Trinity was undefeated in the regular season, and won the first three rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Tigers lost a tightly played Quarterfinals matchup to eventual NCAA champion Washington University-St. Louis (MO) in a home game. Trinity was ranked #2 in the final regular-season National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll, and sixth in the final ranking of the year.

    One Tiger player was elected to the NSCAA All-America First Team, four made the All-Region Team, while three were designated as NSCAA Scholar All-Americans and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans. A Trinity competitor was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Year, and eight Tigers were tabbed for the All-SCAC Team.  

    Coach Harrison was a member of the Tigers team from 1998 to 2001. Under the guidance of Head Coach Paul McGinlay, the former Trinity defender and team captain earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Second Team accolades in 2000 and 2001. He was elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Team in 2001. Coach Harrison was a major contributor to the Tigers’ success, as Trinity advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals in 1998 and 1999, and to the Third Round in 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 2002.

    His coaching career, since graduation from Trinity, has been impressive. Coach Harrison returns to campus from Nicholls State University, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, where he served as the women’s head coach since 2009. Under Coach Harrison’s leadership, the NCAA Division I program made great strides. The Colonels set a school record for victories in a season, in 2013. The team was named the sixth-most improved Division I squad in the nation that year. Nicholls State advanced to the Southland Conference Semifinals in 2014. Coach Harrison’s teams also produced two NSCAA All-Region Players, and a Southland Conference Player of the Year. Coach Harrison holds the distinction of most career wins at Nicholls State.

    Coach Harrison earned a master’s degree in business administration while coaching at Nicholls State. He also mentored the ‘97 Louisiana Girls Olympic Development Team from 2012 to 2015. Three of the players attended national camps, and Coach Harrison was elected the 2014 Louisiana Soccer Association Coach of the Year.

    Prior to joining the Nicholls State staff, Coach Harrison coached the NCAA Division III women’s program at Sewanee: The University of the South (TN) from 2006 to 2008. He guided seven players to All-SCAC honors. Coach Harrison served as an assistant coach at Sewanee from 2004 to 2006. A versatile leader, Coach Harrison also was an assistant track & field coach, focusing on sprinters and jumpers.

    He started his coaching career at the University of the Incarnate Word, located in San Antonio. Coach Harrison oversaw all travel logistics and game-day operations.

    A native of Napoleonville, Louisiana, Coach Harrison is married to the former Kristen Fillmore. His wife is a Nicholls State graduate, and was a standout soccer player. She also served as the Colonels assistant women’s coach. Ms. Harrison is Trinity's Interim Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs/Rec Sports.
