Prior to teaching at Trinity University James worked for over 27 years in the convenience store industry. James retired in January 2018 when his company was purchased and when the company was sold he was the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer for CST Brands, Inc. During his career James had many areas of responsibility. He began working for the company as a Marketing Analyst and worked in the Marketing department for 10 years before joining the Information Services Department. James initially focused on point-of-sale and back office software integration and has led many material integration projects for the Information Services Department including the multi million dollar project to build CST's IT department when the company was divested from Valero.
