About the Program
Broaden your horizons and explore new cultures
The Mexico, the Americas, and Spain (MAS) program promotes and enriches a bilingual and bicultural environment on-and off Trinity’s campus by providing students with academic and experiential learning opportunities for engagement with life and culture from Latin America, the U.S. Latina/o contexts, and Spain.
MAS has become one of the premier interdisciplinary programs at Trinity, and an umbrella organization for efforts of every kind to more deeply engage with the MAS world.
Faculty
Many Trinity faculty members offer classes in Spanish, lead study abroad opportunities, and work as internship and research mentors for all Trinity students.
San Antonio
San Antonio is a place with a rich Latino culture and heritage. 64% of the population is of Hispanic or Latino heritage, and 36 % are Spanish-speaking. This gives Trinity students immense opportunities for cultural exploration and learning experiences.
Internships
MAS offers local and global internships related to non-profit work in the community or entrepreneurial efforts in the Latino, Spanish, and Latin American community.

The MAS program provides Trinity students from all majors with unique, unparalleled opportunities for engagement with the language, life, and culture of the MAS region, while reaching out to the rich and diverse community in San Antonio through internships, seminars and workshops, as well as service learning trips and study abroad.
All of these MAS opportunities are designed to hone Spanish language skills and deepen cultural understanding while providing a wealth of real-world experiences that advance postgraduate opportunities.
Embracing San Antonio
San Antonio's population is more than 50 percent Latino, with a history that binds south Texas and Mexico together. Within this vibrant community of arts, cuisine, music, literature, and film, Trinity students gain invaluable real-world experience. MAS offers volunteer work, service learning, and internships, along with programs connecting academic research to the needs of the South Texas community.
