Washington Post Talks With Trinity About Endowment Tax
Trinity is now exempt from the tax and, like some other universities, is investing that savings in students
The Washington Post reported recently on a change in the federal university endowment tax that exempts schools with 3,000 or fewer students. The change affects Trinity University, which had paid the endowment tax for the past seven years. Many schools are dedicating the amount they paid in taxes to student initiatives. Not paying the tax has helped Trinity increase the minimum wage for student workers to $10 an hour, starting this fall. Read the whole story here.
