Trinity's David Crockett Provides Insight Into Texas Senate Race
Crockett, professor of political science, says Democrats will see Republican's choice of Paxton as an opening
David Crockett, professor of political science at Trinity University, helped the global news website Europe Says break down the Texas Senate race after a runoff election that saw state attorney general Ken Paxton win 64% of the vote over incumbent John Cornyn. The general election, pitting Paxton against Democrat James Talerico, will likely be an expensive battle that draws national attention.
“Democrats have been looking for the last two decades for the person who’s going to pick off a statewide race,” Crockett told the news site. “And this is now the next iteration of that and they’re going to pour a lot of money into that.”
