YOUR PARTNERS ON THE PATH
Parent and Family Programs
Just as your Tiger is part of the Trinity family, we hope you are a Tiger for life.
Trinity University Parent and Family Programs partner with families to promote and cultivate student learning, development, and success. Whether through counseling services, student advising, or the residential life experience, we are here for you every step of the way.
Parent and Family Events
The Parent Engagement Committee plans events for new and current Tiger families all year long. Meet the faculty and staff helping your student succeed, and maybe meet some new friends! Read about Trinity’s signature parent events below:
Mingle with members of the Trinity community and other incoming families and students. Summer Send-Offs are held around the country, usually at the homes of current Tiger parents, to welcome families into the Trinity community.
Summer Parent Series
Over the summer, log in and participate in virtual webinars where parents of new students can make friends and meet faculty and staff in key areas of the University. In addition to happy hours and game nights, webinar topics include important parts of the student experience, such as academic advising, residential life, and more.
Parent and Family Orientation
After moving their students into Trinity, new parents are encouraged to stick around for Parent and Family Orientation (PFO) on August 20th, and immerse themselves in the Trinity experience. Past events have included information sessions, faculty and staff panels, mixers, picnics, and Academic Convocation.
Fall Family Weekend
Parents and families can reconnect with their Tigers over this weekend-long event held in the fall. Past events have included tailgates for Trinity athletics, happy hours, Parent Council luncheons, and open houses. All parents and families are encouraged to attend, though this event’s target audience is family members of first-year and sophomore students.
Spring Family Showcase
Parents and families beam with #TigerPride as students show off their accomplishments from the past year. In the past, this weekend-long event has included an academic and experiential learning talent showcase, an honor awards convocation, the Trinity ring ceremony, and Alpha Lambda Delta induction. All parents and families are encouraged to attend, though this event’s target audience is family members of juniors and seniors.
Parents, students, and alumni network during these industry- and region-specific professional mixers. Mixers are usually held by Alumni Association chapter cities during December and January.
