San Antonio offers Texas-sized adventures for folks of all ages, from theme parks and water parks to caves and outdoor playgrounds. The city's hallmark 10-day celebration, FIESTA San Antonio, takes place in April. Cheer on the five-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs and numerous other sports teams in the Alamo City.
Just across the street from campus, the 343-acre Brackenridge Park winds along the San Antonio River. Along with canopies of trees, walking and jogging trails, and the San Antonio Zoo, you can take a miniature train all the way around the park.
Just north of downtown and south of campus is the Museum Reach section of the River Walk, which connects with the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Pearl, and the Tobin Center for Performing of Arts. Just south of downtown is the recently completed Mission Reach section of the River Walk, which connects the city center with the Alamo and the other San Antonio Missions (UNESCO World Heritage sites).
Live music, food and wine festivals, cultural events, live sporting events and rodeos – there’s no shortage of events to experience.
