Description
This course invites student, staff, and faculty participants to explore and discuss research-based readings and practices that support compassion, respect, and empathy in their personal and professional lives. This course aims to be an anti-racist, pro-liberation space to explore how to develop practices of compassion to sustain the long term work of making Trinity University a more just and peaceful community. Part of the Compassionate SA Initiative and facilitated by Trinity students, staff, community members, and faculty, participants will begin with an examination of one's own values and generating community agreements for cultivating safe and brave spaces that support each participant's own learning and development. Participants will complete the official 10 week Compassionate Integrity Training (CIT) designed by LIFE University and receive a certificate of completion. The course will conclude with a culminating project exploring opportunities for applying skills in compassionate integrity at Trinity or locally.
