Hiring Student Workers for Summer 2024

It is almost time to hire student workers for Summer 2024! Before beginning the hiring process in Workday, please review all the updates and reminders from the Office of Human Resources below.

Summer Student Hiring Updates:

• All current student workers for the 2023-2024 academic year will be terminated after Saturday, May 11, 2024. This process will be completed by Human Resources.
• In order for HR to complete the termination process and update their records, they ask that all managers wait to initiate student hires in Workday until Tuesday, May 14 at the earliest.
• Student summer employment dates will be Monday, May 13, to Friday, August 23.
• Please note that students can officially begin working on Monday, May 13, and will still be able to enter time despite Tuesday, May 14, being the earliest date to initiate the hire in Workday.  It can be backdated to May 13 when entering it on May 14.

Important Reminders:

• All student hiring will be done on Workday by managers.
• Open student positions are advertised on Handshake.
• You must be sure to select "Student Summer Assistant" as the job profile when hiring.
• Any new student that has never worked on campus before will still need to stop by the HR office (NH 210) on their first day to show their original I-9 documents.
