Overview

Geosciences students are encouraged to take advantage of undergraduate research opportunities. While department faculty offer a wide variety of research topics, students can also engage in research with other scientists in Keck Geology Consortium projects or by engaging in research or internships with external agencies. Geosciences students commonly present their research results at national conferences and symposiums across the country.  Students are also encouraged to attend one of many field camps nationwide, where students learn the principles of field and laboratory research.

Research with Faculty

Faculty in the department perform research with students across a range of geosciences disciplines, with field areas across the country and around the world.  Students and faculty work together to address important geological and environmental research questions, with research results commonly published in leading scientific journals.
