Kate Foster, M.A.T.
- Program Assistant II, Accommodated Testing & Accessible Content Manager , Student Accessibility Services
Originally from Houston, TX, Kate Foster has worked in education since graduating from Trinity's MAT Program in 2018. While an undergrad at Trinity, she studied Chinese, International Relations, Business, and Spanish. She participated on the club volleyball team and could often be found at the Bell Center or in the Modern Languages department. After graduating from the MAT program, she worked at the International School of the Americas here in San Antonio. While at ISA, she taught sophomores and juniors in various social sciences, guided students on week-long trips to New Mexico, Washington D.C, and Alabama, and in general became obsessed with helping young adults grow and succeed. She has also worked as a curriculum writer and study abroad trip leader.
Working in Student Accessibility Services, Kate loves encouraging students to advocate for themselves. She works mainly in the Accommodated Testing Center and also supports new students in receiving accommodations. She loves helping students develop the skills needed to collaborate with peers and professors on academic or social concerns.
In her free time, Kate can be found painting -- watercolor, charcoal watercolor, and gouache are current mediums, and she loves a good portrait with funky eyebrows. She's a short-term van-lifer, enjoys road-trips and national parks, and finds no issue with sleeping in a tent or under the stars. Well, as long as the bugs aren't too bad. She believes strongly in the value of different perspectives and thinks that travel (international or otherwise) and learning languages are awesome ways to grow one's perspective. Wanna talk?
