• "CC" Cutter Canada was born in Beaverton, Oregon, and grew up bouncing from place to place for most of their life, eventually sticking to a landing in San Antonio. They received their B.A. in English and Communication from Trinity University in 2024. While at Trinity, CC worked as a research assistant and a library aide, and also participated in numerous clubs, including the Creative Writing Club, TriniD&D, and helped found the Trinity Archives Advocates club on campus. CC also spent a semester abroad in Ireland, studying poetry and sociology at Queen’s University Belfast. After graduating, CC worked as a college adviser at Madison High School through the Trinity University College Advising Corps. They worked with 9th-12th grade students on postsecondary plans that included college and financial aid applications, scholarships, and career and major exploration. Their primary academic interests include intersectionality, writing of all categories, researching, and all aspects of Language Arts, but most importantly, they have a passion to help students discover and follow their passions, wherever that may lead them.

CC will be supporting Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Social Sciences, among other disciplines, in their role as academic advisor in the Office of Academic Advising. They will be actively working towards creating equitable educational experiences for students, developing self-advocacy and self-care routines, connecting needs, values, and learning, and continuing the tradition of academic excellence at Trinity University.

CC's personal and academic background revolves around critical animal studies, leading them to receive the 2023 Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics, and the world of artificial intelligence ethics. In addition to advising, CC is a published writer, the lead developer of a budding video game studio, an avid nap enthusiast, and the loving parent of a very grumpy old Chihuahua.
