• Dr. Wood is a developmental health psychologist in the psychology department at Trinity University. Dr. Wood's research explores how neighborhood environments—and the beliefs we form about them—influence mental and physical health. Drawing on social, cognitive, and evolutionary theories, she uses a multidisciplinary approach that integrates experimental, physiological, and developmental methods to identify pathways for reducing negative health outcomes.

Erin received her Ph.D in Experimental Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2021. Before joining the faculty at Trinity University, Erin was a NIDA T32 postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Texas Health Center at San Antonio (2021-2022), and was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2022-2025).
