COVID-19 update from Trinity University
COVID Update: Feb 14-21
Current statistics/numbers in the last week

Dear Trinity Community:

Good afternoon! Our case rate continues to decline for the the third week in a row since returning to classes Jan. 31, moving us closer to more changes in our ProtecTU policies:

  • Since Feb. 14, 1 individual has tested positive out of 83 surveillance tests
  • The COVID Health Team has administered 44 on-demand tests, resulting in 9 positive results
  • Currently, 1 student is in isolation on campus

Based on these numbers, the Health & Wellness Workgroup will soon make recommendations to University leadership regarding changes to our ProtecTU protocols.
While a new variant could always upend projections, our public health advisers do not anticipate an additional surge from Omicron. Rather, we expect to see modest increases and decreases throughout the semester at levels that are operationally manageable and pose limited risk to our highly vaccinated campus community.

Please watch for more information to come on ProtecTU indicators, policy changes, and actions individuals can take to move through this period of transition in the pandemic with confidence.

Wishing you all good health!
