Andrew Porter’s 'The Imagined Life' Makes NPR’s 2025 list of "Books We Love"
NPR book critic lauds Porter as becoming one of the most reliably great fiction writers

The Imagined Life by Andrew Porter, MFA, Professor of English at Trinity University, is listed on National Public Radio’s “Books We Love” for 2025. “Andrew Porter has quietly become one of the United States’ most reliably great fiction writers,” Michael Schaub, NPR book critic, wrote. “Porter evokes both 1980s and contemporary California perfectly and writes with a psychological insight that calls to mind John Cheever and Richard Yates … he’s that good.”
