Trinity’s 2019 Alumni Weekend, held in the University’s 150th year, promised to be a celebration like none other.
And boy, did the Trinity community deliver. Excitement bubbled through the entire celebration, but the first sign of success was the almost 1,500-plus event registrations—more than double the previous record for an all-time high. These alumni represented an incredible range of generations, geography, and career paths, says Michael Bacon ’89, vice president for Alumni Relations and Development.
“We were thrilled to see Trinity alumni reconnect in so many ways this weekend,” Bacon says. “Tigers loved being back on campus, revisiting their fondest Trinity memories.”
This alumni enthusiasm even extended to Trinity’s reunion giving totals, which have already set a record at $3.5 million.
“Our alumni have stepped up in 2019 in more ways than ever before,” Bacon adds. “The support we’ve received is already putting Trinity in a position to push to new heights.”

At Fiesta with the Faculty, alumni reconnected with beloved professors, with friends, colleagues, and current select STEM students, all over food and drinks. Alumni artisans and authors made a strong impression, selling unique artwork and signed copies of their books.
Several returning alumni also climbed Murchison Tower for the first time since their graduation ceremonies. Waiting for them at the apex of their 166-foot climb was President Danny Anderson, who took the time to greet each Tiger who made the trek.
At halftime of Trinity’s 52-35 victory over Austin College, the athletic department inducted its 11th Trinity University Athletic Hall of Fame class. This year’s Hall of Famers consisted of 12 inductees, representing baseball, women’s basketball, football, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track & field, volleyball, and the athletic administration.
Trinity’s Oakmont Block party was also a huge success. Tigers from classes dating back to the 1950s attended decade-specific mixers in the historic houses of Trinity’s Oakmont Court.
