The Power of Staying Engaged
Bria Woods ’16 reflects on how Trinity has continually called her back in new and meaningful ways

Trinity University has always had what Bria Woods ’16 calls a magnetic pull. From her first campus tour as a high school student to her years as a communication major deeply involved in student life, Trinity has continually called her back in new and meaningful ways.

That connection has only strengthened over time. Woods’ voice has been a familiar presence on KRTU 91.7 FM, where she’s volunteered as a community host for more than a decade. She served as a mentor in the Legacy of Excellence program, contributed her time to her five-year reunion committee, and gained new perspectives as a member of the Board of Visitors.

“It’s always been easy for me to say yes to Trinity,” Woods says. “This place has given me so much, and I want to keep showing up for it.”

Now, in 2025, that magnetic pull has brought Bria back to campus once again—this time as a staff member at KRTU, working alongside the faculty and mentors who helped shape her own path.

That same commitment drives Woods’ continued support as a Trinity True donor, ensuring that future Tigers have access to the same transformative experiences she did. “The more I mature, the more I understand that great ideas and great promises take a great sum of money,” she says. “I like to put my money where my truth is—and for me, that truth is that everyone deserves access to quality education.”

The Office of Alumni Relations facilitates mutually beneficial connections between Trinity University and its alumni by fostering the ideals of diversity and inclusion, lifelong relationships, and personal and professional growth.
