At Trinity University, every Tiger’s story begins with opportunity and the support to make the most of it.
From Residence Hall kits and textbooks to mentorship and emergency aid, Trinity’s critical funds ensure students can focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and leading.
This Giving TUesday, on December 2, your gift directly fuels these essential programs that make the Trinity experience possible for every student, no matter their background or financial situation.
Don’t just take our word for it, hear directly from students whose lives have been shaped by your generosity:
The Trinity Fund
Ensure every student who deserves to be at Trinity has access to the full Trinity experience.
For Alexis Ibarra ’26, the Trinity experience has meant exploring every opportunity to learn, grow, and lead, without the burden of financial strain.
“Because of my scholarships, I've had the experiences of internships, research opportunities, and study abroad.”
Those opportunities have shaped more than just Alexis’ résumé. They’ve shaped his identity and confidence as a scholar and a leader.
“Every opportunity that I've had has given me the chance to grow and develop into the person I am today, ” he says.
The Trinity Fund makes these experiences possible for students like Alexis, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of a transformational education.
The Necessity Fund
Provide support for essential living and academic supplies like sheets, towels, or books.
When Padme Monzon ’29 first arrived on campus, she was greeted by more than just a new dorm room. She found a dorm kit waiting for her with everything she needed to start college life comfortably, including a lamp, a laundry kit, pencils and pens, hand soap, and bed sheets.
“The first time I opened my dorm room and I saw everything waiting for me, I was really excited and really overall happy and joyful,” she says.
For Padme, the Necessity Fund meant more than just supplies—it meant peace of mind during a major life transition.
“I think that if I didn't have the Necessity Fund, I would've been stressed, and I feel like that was a weight taken off, ” she says.
Thanks to the Necessity Fund, students like Padme can begin their Trinity journey focused on their goals, not their shopping lists.
Skyline Scholars
Ease the transition to college for new Tigers through early, immersive access to campus.
For Gabriela Berrones ’29, the Skyline Scholars program provided more than just an early start—it offered a community and the confidence to thrive from day one.
“Being a Skyline Scholar allowed me to get acclimated to Trinity before the semester began,” she says. “I am appreciative that I was able to have one-on-one conversations with my academic coach, my professors, and academic advisers. Having that guidance made me eager to learn.”
That early support helped Gabriela build a strong academic foundation and discover her voice as a student and scholar.
“My writing workshops taught me the value of analysis and the power our voices have when we make connections to literary texts,” she says. “The seminars, after reading the books, were full of interesting discussions about how different people define success. Success is not ‘one size fits all; it's about finding support and happiness in the work you do.”
Gabriela says that, overall, her “A Successful Life” First-Year Experience course, as a Skyline Scholar, has empowered her to set her sights high.
Through the Skyline Scholars program, students like Gabriela begin their Trinity journey ready to learn, connect, and succeed, with the guidance and resources that help them feel at home.
The First-Generation Scholarship
Support first-gen students with on-campus resources to guide their degree journey.
For Evelyn Gonzalez ’26, being the first in her family to attend college isn’t just a personal milestone; it’s a legacy in the making.
“Being a first-generation college student is important to me and my family because it helps me set an example for my siblings,” she says. “Coming from our roots, we didn't really have this opportunity.”
Through the First-Generation Scholarship, Evelyn has been able to focus on her academics and leadership roles without the weight of financial stress.
“Being on a scholarship has helped me achieve my dreams by not having to worry about the financial burden during my four years here at Trinity,” she says. “It's helped me focus on doing extracurricular activities such as being part of the Student Ambassadors and Delta Theta Nu.”
Evelyn’s experience reflects what the First-Generation Scholarship makes possible, empowering students to lead, inspire, and thrive at Trinity.
The Raymond Judd Student Emergency Fund
Assist students facing financial emergencies like unexpected medical costs, food insecurity, and housing.
For many Trinity students, unexpected hardships can create overwhelming financial strain, but the Raymond Judd Student Emergency Fund offers a vital safety net when it’s needed most.
“As a college student, knowing that the Judd Student Emergency Fund is an available resource for students who have no other option in times of emergency is a huge weight lifted off so many students' shoulders,” says a Trinity student.
For this senior from Dallas, Texas, majoring in English, communication, and Spanish, the fund provides more than financial help; it brings peace of mind and the ability to stay focused on what matters most.
“Especially for low-income students like myself, the financial logistics of navigating emergencies are a huge stressor on top of the emergency itself,” the senior says. “The Student Emergency Fund helps to take away some of that pressure and allows students to instead focus on the situation they are experiencing.”
The Judd Student Emergency Fund reminds every student that they are never alone. There’s a community ready to help them through life’s unexpected challenges.
