TigerTV is Trinity’s student-run campus television station, home to news, hilarious sketch shows and other creative outlets. The station is cablecast around the clock on campus channel 14.1, using the latest in HD television equipment.

Established in 1996, this closed-circuit television station is a professional, student-operated broadcast organization. It offers a realistic perspective on a multitude of career objectives in communication, media production, and broadcasting. With a hands-on and immersive approach to learning, student crew gain experience in all aspects of the business with supervision from experienced staff.

The station is intended to supplement regular television production, business, and other communication-related courses by offering additional time to apply techniques learned in those classes. TigerTV is often viewed as an in-house internship opportunity for Trinity students, providing experience and valuable skills a graduate’s resume and portfolio no matter what career path is selected.

In 2010, TigerTV unveiled its renovated digital HD facilities. The new, state-of-the art studios include broadcast quality high-definition video production and recording equipment and an enlarged production control facility. The studio supports up to five HD cameras and features a new 20-foot green-screen wall, as well as the latest DMX lighting systems. A satellite newsroom includes two robotic HD cameras and a standard-definition interview area. A new satellite dish and arrangement with CNN allows students to access the network’s news feeds for broadcast.

Whether a student is working as a writer, director, camera operator, technical support person, or on-camera talent, TigerTV provides a broad range of experiential opportunities. Our student-produced programs include Newswave, a thirty-minute live broadcast news program, Studio 21, a music and entertainment news program, and many more. One of the station’s most popular segments involves bringing in artists from the San Antonio community, often including alumni who have gone on to have careers in music, for an exclusive live performance.

"TigerTV is one of the main reasons that I came to Trinity… I’ve learned so much from writing scripts to creating video packages to producing a show and much more. I’m running a whole show with an amazing cast and crew. It’s been a highlight of my Trinity experience.” - Briahn Hawkins ’19, Executive Producer of Studio 21.

LeeRoy Tiger is Trinity's lovable mascot, spreading #TigerPride wherever he goes.
