Trinity Celebrates Black History Month
Campus events give students the opportunity to celebrate the contributions of Trinity’s African-American community

February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the African-American community at Trinity and beyond. The theme of the 2022 Black History Month nationwide is the importance of Black Health and Wellness. According to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, “this theme acknowledges the legacy of not only Black scholars and medical practitioners in Western medicine, but also other ways of knowing (e.g., birthworkers, doulas, midwives, naturopaths, herbalists, etc.) throughout the African Diaspora. The 2022 theme considers activities, rituals and initiatives that Black communities have done to be well.”

In the spirit of the theme, Trinity is hosting several events throughout the month. These on-campus events are intended to celebrate the legacy of the African American community, in addition to educating about the importance of this year’s theme.
