In the newly released 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges, Trinity has been selected as one of the top universities in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, and Ireland. According to one Trinity senior interviewed by the guide, the University is “friendly, warm, personal, engaged, and academically stimulating.”
The guide states that Trinity’s unique blend of small, focused classes and an ability to acquire a “student body composed of smart, ambitious men and women, and stellar faculty” helps to set it apart from other schools.
The University was especially noted for its sense of community and ambition at the student and faculty levels. The guide cites Trinity’s strong programs in business administration, accounting, chemistry, Chinese, economics, education, engineering science, and finance as showing an eclectic range of well supported majors. In addition, the guide calls attention to a “highly praised education department” and “one of the fastest growing Chinese language programs in the country.”
The guide also recognizes that by recruiting with greater energy than larger universities and keeping low enrollment numbers, Trinity maintains strict admission standards. This results in an admitted class of students who “are eager to take on as many opportunities as they can possibly handle,” according to one student who was interviewed by the guide.
The 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges ranks the “best and most interesting” universities. Now in its 35th year, the guide has grown to include more than 300 universities and is considered to be the most authoritative source of information for college-bound students and their parents.
Trinity’s continued presence in the Fiske Guide to Colleges parallels the University’s persisting focus on providing the “intimate community feel with quality professors” that distinguishes it as a premier university in the country.
