Trinity Junior Wins Press Club Scholarship
St. Louis student is recognized for his work with an online public affairs journal

Benjamin Collinger, a Trinity University junior majoring in international studies and history, has been awarded a scholarship in recognition of his work with The Contemporary, an online public affairs journal.

Collinger, a native of Olivette, Mo., was one of 16 college journalists who received scholarships from the St. Louis Chapter Journalism Foundation Scholarship. He was given $1,500 from the Baseball Writers Association.

He founded The Contemporary and serves as its executive director. He also has worked in the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is vice president of the Trinity Diversity Connection. Collinger’s interests include international affairs, national security law, and entrepreneurship. His writing also has appeared in The Huffington Post and Trinity University’s Digital Commons.

The foundation scholarship is administered by The St. Louis Press Club, a professional, social. and charitable organization of people who make, cover and influence the news. The group is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
