Trinity Theatre Presents Adaptation of Lysistrata
Production is the final show of the 2017-18 season

The Department of Human Communication and Theatre at Trinity University will present its final show of the 2017-18 season, Lysistrata. The production is an adaptation of the ancient comedy by Aristophanes, re-told by Ellen McLaughlin for the Lysistrata Project in 2003. This production is directed by Trinity theater professor Stacey Connelly.

Frustrated by a war that will not end, the women of Athens decide to deploy a secret weapon until the men end the fighting once and for all. More than tensions swell as the women, led by Lysistrata, hold out the allure of a peaceful climax. Will their seductive strategy defeat the combatants or just stiffen their resolve? This show is recommended for mature audiences.

Lysistrata opens April 13 and continues through the weekend, with additional shows April 18-21 in the Stieren Theater located in the Ruth Taylor Theater Building on the Trinity campus. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $6 for students, and $8 for seniors, faculty, staff, and alumni. Tickets can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/trinityutheatre and at the theatre box office from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
