Trinity University Announces Special Adviser to the President
Clarence Wyatt to bring vast experience in higher education as University looks ahead to national prominence

Trinity University has named Clarence R. Wyatt, Ph.D., as special adviser to the president. Wyatt joined the Trinity community on October 1, 2024. Wyatt is an accomplished leader in higher education and university administration and development with more than 46 years of experience.

As special adviser to the president, Wyatt will work closely with Vanessa B. Beasley, Ph.D., president of Trinity University, as Trinity continues to rise on the national stage. His extensive knowledge and experience in higher education position Wyatt as a valuable resource within the University. In his role, Wyatt will also invite relevant government agencies and officials to learn more about the University’s mission.

Wyatt most recently served as president of Monmouth College for 10 years. He previously held positions as chief planning officer, special assistant to the president, and the Pottinger Distinguished Professor of History at Centre College, where he worked for 36 years. Wyatt earned his bachelor’s degree in English and history from Centre College, his master’s degree in American history from the University of Kentucky, and his doctorate in American history from the University of Kentucky. 

Wyatt brings a passion for liberal arts education and insightful expertise to help advance Trinity’s core mission and values as special adviser to the president.
